Many of the points pertain to social behavior and norms which effect how gender and different genders engage in leadership activities and qualities associated with being a leader. A large component of being successful revolves around the ability to maintain balance in our lives between academics, jobs, friends, personal needs, and other things we constantly try to manage and balance. One way to try and keep this balance is by thinking of things you want to do personally in order to maintain this balance. At the GMM we related these desires and forms of balance with our personal values. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Instructions:Look through the list of values listed below and select your personal top 5. Once you've selected your values come up with at least 10 things you want to do over the next 365 days to recharge your batteries or make you enjoy life. I've included part of my personal list to help you start but feel free to take this however you want! Did it go well? There are 10 people in my group, and we're not getting anywhere!  We've met twice now, but no one seems to be willing to share ideas at all.  When someone does say an idea, it's not very well received. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have some really good ideas, and I really want to share them, but I'm incredibly nervous to talk in front of people I don't know very well. As leaders, we run into lots of challenges and difficult situations. So we want to start the discussion and post students' troubling challenges and get your feedback!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;SLP will monitor the discussion throughout week and on Friday, we will post a "Leadership Challenge" where you will have the opportunity to go out and practice some of the leadership skills discussed during the week. SLP members can turn in a short write up to the SLP office and get credit for 1 event. This week's write up challenge will be posted on Friday, November 14 and will be due to the SLP office no later than Friday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. Remember, you have to post a comment at least TWICE throughout the week AND turn in the write up to get credit for an event.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Any specific questions can be forwarded to &lt;a href="mailto:slp@odos.wisc.edu"&gt;slp@odos.wisc.edu&lt;/a&gt;.
